As part of the Government’s pledge to improve skills in Yorkshire, the College can give your business access to a large amount of funding available under a scheme called the Enhancement Fund. The Enhancement Fund is a £50m resource aimed at engaging employers in Yorkshire and Humber to invest in skills development and therefore increase the skills base in the region. This means that for any course that is not either mandatory or can’t be already government funded, the scheme funds 60% of the cost of any courses. This is only for accredited courses. Ultimately, this means that we can give you top class training for 40% of the cost of a private training provider equivalent. The investment in terms of capita per head trained can often be significantly reduced. The Enhancement Fund is intended to support businesses to address challenges by enabling them to access accredited training resources to improve the skills of their workforce. Funded by Yorkshire Forward and the European Social Fund and co-financed monies through the Learning and Skills Council for Yorkshire and Humber, it was commissioned by the Learning and Skills Council and Yorkshire Forward and awarded to the West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges.
