Warehousing and Fork Lift Truck qualifications have become more and more popular, with the development of technology in the industry.

Wakefield College's Services to Business department can offer training on all aspects of lift truck operations and SPMO (Specialised Plant and Machinery Operations), from basic operator training and refresher conversion guidance through to team leader awareness courses. We can also run instructor training courses as accredited by ITSSAR.

We are accredited by ITSSAR (Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register) as an Instructor and Operator Training Organisation. At present, we are one of a small number of Level 3 accredited training providers in Yorkshire.

Warehousing and Storage NVQ Levels 1 and 2
If you work in the warehousing and storage sector, these NVQs will enable you to demonstrate the skills you already have, broaden your industry knowledge and gain a greater understanding of the part you play in your company's performance. The course will also give you a recognised qualification which could be a stepping-stone to further achievements.

Logistics Operations Management - NVQ Level 3
This qualification is designed for employees working in roles such as warehouse or logistics manager. The units include health and safety in the workplace, the ability to work effectively with colleagues and obtaining information on goods and modes of transport. They also cover the technical competences required to arrange the international transport of goods along with associated documentation.

Basic Novice Fork Lift Truck Operator
Learn how to operate a fork lift truck safely and effectively in 5 days. On completion of the course you will be familiar with the basic skill requirements, job safety knowledge and understanding required for safe and effective operation of either counterbalance or reach lift trucks.

Lift Truck Operations NVQ Level 2
If you work as a Fork Lift Truck Operator, this NVQ will enable you to demonstrate your skills and knowledge against the standard expected by the logistics industry.

Fork Lift Truck Conversion (Counterbalance to Reach)
This course is for trained operators of Counterbalance lift trucks who now wish to learn how to operate a Reach lift truck.

Fork Lift Truck Conversion (Reach to Counterbalance)
This course is for trained operators of Reach lift trucks who now wish to learn how to operate a Counterbalance lift truck.

Fork Lift Truck Conversion (Counterbalance or Reach to Very Narrow Aisle)
This course is for trained operators of Counterbalance or Reach lift trucks who now wish to operate in a Very Narrow Aisle working environment.

Fork Lift Truck Refresher Course (Counterbalance or Reach)
This course is for trained operators of Counterbalance or Reach lift trucks who now wish to update their skills and knowledge and renew their certification.

Emergency Escape from Height
This course is for trained and experienced Very Narrow Aisle operators needing to gain the essential theory and practice of safe evacuation procedures from heights.

Pedestrian Stacker
This course is designed to teach practical and theory aspects of basic pedestrian stacker operating.

Experienced Fork Lift Truck Operator
If you have experience with fork lift trucks, this course will show you how to operate a fork lift truck safely and effectively in 3 days. On completion of the course you will be familiarised with the basic skill requirements, job safety knowledge and understanding required for safe and effective operation of either counterbalance or reach lift trucks.

Fork Lift Truck Team Leader Awareness
This course is designed for individuals who manage or supervise fork lift truck operators in a working environment.

Fork Lift Truck Instructor Course
Become a fork lift instructor in 10 days. On completion of the course you will understand the principles of fork lift truck operations, safety and training qualifications.
