You don't even need to be based in Wakefield or West Yorkshire to complete a course at Wakefield College. Our on-line course packages are flexible and ideal for home learning. Focusing on distance learning and online learning, these types of courses are also ideal for blended learning.

Online learning is ideal for people who find it difficult to commit themselves to regular time slots, such as people who work shifts, care for young children or are in full-time education. Their learning is much more flexible as they can study whenever they want, day or night and they don’t need to waste time and money travelling to an institution. People who have disabilities that prevent or deter them from accessing face-to-face education can participate and students can be judged by the quality of their work.

Driving For Work
We have developed a programme for companies employing drivers at work, as a result of the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007. The package will prepare both management and employees in their responsibilities and understanding of the relatively new Act. Benefits include increased awareness of a company’s driver requirements, a better understanding for drivers of general road safety and vehicle maintenance and the provision to instruct and test driver knowledge in road safety, driving skills and observation.
